The alarm works fine, the quickset date works, everything moves smoothly. Here I was surprised at how much smoother the winding rotor sound is compared to my 17 jewel Bell. I have not opened the case, but regarding the mechanical functions everything works just fine. Seller told me it is original, and if this is the case, it has been well cared for because there are no major scratches.īoth the Alarm Crown and the regular Crown appear to be original and in good condition. I do not know what material it is, but is definitely not sapphire. It is metallic in color and has a coin-edge texture, nicer in person than in photos. The markers are applied and the lume that was applied is now practically no longer functioning, but at least there is no nasty gunk on the old lume. Having said this, I do not yet own a loupe, so my impressions are from the naked eye. The dial is nice, no visible water damage or other deterioration/scratches. I feel that this Bell-Matic is of better fit and finish than my own original Bell-Matic with 17 jewels. This one was hauled in from and so far everything works A-okay. TWO - box is opened and watch is nicely packed.įOUR - Back of watch (btw the serial number is there, I just deleted it from this photo). My original post at the Forum in the Republic of Bellmania: This is an unveiling of a Bell-Matic with Charcoal Dial (21 jewels), the original unveiling was at the Republic of Bellmania ( ).
